Our History

Thames Valley ABC was founded in 1956 by Johnny Bremmer, Lord Porchester, Jack Curtis, Jerry Groves and secretary John Pocock. The Club was then known as Newbury Amateur Boxing Club which was run from a top room at the Waggon and Horses Pub in Newbury Market Place. John Pocock and Johnny Bremmer both still support the club.

Over the years; Thames Valley Amatuer Boxing Club has moved premises and delevoped resulting in more members including female boxers. The boxing club is proud to have had two National Amateur Champions, several ABA Semi-Finalist Senior and Junior, a Female ABA finalist and numerious Home County Champions.
